Jefferson County, TX – Collision On Interstate 10 Sends Two To Hospital

Jefferson County, TX (June 20, 2019) – At approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 19, emergency crews and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 10.

Preliminary investigations of the incident show a semi-trailer and an RV were both traveling west along Interstate 10 when traffic congestion in the roadway caused the semi-truck driver to slow his vehicle.

The driver of the RV was unable to slow down his vehicle in time, causing the RV to rear-end the tractor-trailer along the roadway.

The driver of the RV, 68-year-old Thomas Allen, was transported via ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital for treatment. The passenger in the vehicle, and Mr. Allen’s wife, 67-year-old Marilyn Allen, sustained serious injuries. Ms. Allen was flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the semi-truck remained uninjured in the collision.

Our thoughts are with both Mr. and Mrs. Allen and their family at this time.
