Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

Houston, TX - 9-Year-Old Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on Aldine Bender RdIn Texas, hit-and-run accidents are defined as drivers hitting a person, vehicle, animal, or property, and then fleeing the scene without providing insurance information and helping those who sustained injuries. Texas laws consider hit-and-runs a serious criminal charge that could be classified as a misdemeanor or a felony depending on the incident. Most drivers commit hit-and-run accidents if their driver’s license is expired, if they have a recent criminal history, if they’re in a stolen vehicle, or if they’re under the influence. Children who are hit by vehicles easily sustain injuries since their bodies are so fragile, which is why it’s important for their parents to contact an experienced Texas personal injury lawyer to help them file a lawsuit.
