Wilmer, TX – 2 Injured in Wrong-Way Accident on I-45

Wilmer, TX (June 22, 2019) On the morning of June 21st, a fiery wrong-way accident happened on the Interstate 45 Freeway at Pleasant Run. A Chevrolet sedan was traveling in the wrong direction for unknown reasons when it collided with a Lexus. Shortly after the accident, a fire erupted. The fiery collision happened at 4:00 a.m.

When the paramedics arrived, they found both drivers suffering from injuries and took them both to Baylor University Medical Center for immediate treatment. The driver who was driving in the wrong direction has been identified as 23-year-old Jay’la Sherley.

The accident is currently under investigation as authorities figure out why Sherley was driving in the wrong direction.

We hope Jay’la Sherley and the other injured victim fully recover from their injuries.
