Arlington, TX – Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Overhill Dr

Arlington, TX (June 23, 2019) On the evening of June 22nd, a motorcycle accident happened at the intersection of Overhill Drive and East Abram Street. A motorcycle was traveling eastbound on East Abram Street as a pickup truck was stopped at a red light at the intersection. The pickup truck driver then turned and crashed into the motorcycle. The impact caused the motorcyclist to eject off of his motorcycle and land in the street. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

When the ambulance arrived at the intersection, they found the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The two occupants inside of the pickup truck did not sustain any injuries.

Authorities are currently investigating to determine why the pickup truck crashed into the motorcyclists.

We send our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased motorcyclist.

Motorcycle Accidents in Texas

Recent studies show that Texas leads the nation with the highest number of motorcycle accidents. The leading cause of almost every motorcycle accident throughout the country is negligence, which includes distracted driving, drunk driving, and reckless driving. The most common type of motorcycle accident is the left turn accident, which is when vehicles turn left at intersections in front of oncoming motorcyclists.
