Lubbock, TX – Benjamin Martinez Killed In Bicycle Crash On N Detroit Avenue

Lubbock, TX (June 24, 2019) – On June 23, around 9:30 p.m., police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Detroit Avenue and Emory Street.

According to reports, 56-year-old Benjamin Martinez was traveling west along the roadway when he was struck by a pickup truck, which was turning a corner at the intersection.

Martinez sustained serious injuries and was transported to UMC for treatment. Authorities confirm that Martinez later succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
