Belton, TX (June 27, 2019) – On June 23, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on the southbound side on Interstate 35 near the exit for Tahuaya Road.

According to reports, 34-year-old Yuricel Penaloza was walking along the interstate when she was struck by a gold 2004 Honda Accord.

Penaloza sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash resulted in a closure of the southbound side as crews investigated. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
