Houston, TX – 1 Killed in DUI Accident on W 34th St

Houston, TX (June 30, 2019) On the morning of June 30th, a DUI accident happened at the intersection of West 34th Street and Golf Drive. A white Toyota Tundra was turning left on 34th Street when it was hit by a black truck. The impact of the crash trapped the driver of the Toyota inside of his truck.

When the paramedics and other emergency crews arrived, they quickly extricated the driver of the Toyota and rushed him to the nearest hospital in the area for immediate treatment. Sadly, he did not survive despite instant medical aid.

The police are currently investigating the accident, but they have arrested the driver of the black truck for driving under the influence. He is being charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Our thoughts are with the deceased driver’s family as they begin grieving his loss.

DUI Accidents in Houston

Houston, TX - 1 Killed in DUI Accident on W 34th StIn 2015, almost 1,000 drivers that were involved in DUI accidents had a BAC level of 15 percent or more in Texas. When drivers are under the influence, they’re not in their right state of mind, which makes them more susceptible to accidentally causing fatal collisions. Being under the influence makes drivers more likely to disobey traffic laws and put others at risk of losing their lives.
