Sterling City, TX – Roberto Ornelas Jr Killed After Head-On Wreck On TX-158
Sterling City, TX (July 10, 2019) – The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a man has been killed after being involved in a head-on collision in Sterling City. The crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7th, on TX-158.
Initial reports state that 26-year-old Roberto Ornelas Jr. was driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling east on the roadway. For an unknown reason, Ornelas entered the lane of oncoming traffic and struck an 18-wheeler head-on. The semi was a 2013 Peterbilt towing a semi-trailer.
Ornelas was killed on impact.
No information was released concerning the status of the semi-driver.
The crash is currently under investigation.
