Upton County, TX – Oliver Rodriguez Killed and 3 Injured in Truck Accident on FM 1555
Upton County, TX (July 13, 2019) On the afternoon of July 11th, a two-car crash happened on FM 1555. A 2002 International truck was traveling eastbound on the road when its tire blew out and caused the truck driver to lose control and end up in the westbound lane. Unfortunately, the truck collided with a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado that carried two occupants. The accident happened at around 5:30 p.m.
When the paramedics and other emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found one of the occupants in the Chevrolet dead. He has been identified as 24-year-old Oliver Rodriguez. Sadly, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Both drivers sustained injuries and were rushed to Shannon Medical Center Hospital in San Angelo for immediate care. The passenger in the truck was transported to Upton County Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are still investigating the crash to figure out why the truck’s tire blew out.
Our thoughts are with the family of Oliver Rodriguez as they begin grieving. We also wish the three remaining injured victims a complete recovery.
Truck Accidents in Texas
Unfortunately, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration reported that approximately 3,838 fatal truck accidents occurred nationwide in 2015. One of the top causes of truck accidents is faulty auto parts or maintenance errors, which could lead to multiple responsible parties, including truck companies and truck manufacturing companies. All negligent parties should be responsible for assisting those involved in severe or fatal truck accidents.
At Benton Law Firm, we work hard to hold all negligent parties responsible for fatal truck accidents. We pursue truck companies, truck manufacturing companies, owners, and anyone else that could have played a role in an accident that took an innocent life. We assist grieving families and injured victims with wrongful death lawsuits and personal injury lawsuits, respectively.
