Collinsville, TX – Christopher Gene Downing Arrested For Crash On Highway 377

Collinsville, TX (July 18, 2019) – On July 17, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 377 around 2 p.m.

According to DPS, 34-year-old Christopher Gene Downing was traveling down the highway when he lost control of a commercial truck he was driving. As a result, Downing collided with a pickup truck, which was traveling north carrying four passengers.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 30-year-old man, and two 16-year-old passengers in the vehicle were, were all injured in the collision.

A fourth victim, who was only identified as a 13-year-old, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

Mr. Downing was arrested for his involvement in the collision. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
