Orange County, TX – One Injured In Collision On Interstate 10
Orange County, TX (July 18, 2019) – Around 11:30 a.m. o July 17, emergency crews reported to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 10 near Highway 62.
Reports from the scene indicate that 75-year-old Carlise Coy Simmons was traveling down Interstate 10 in a Ford pickup truck when his vehicle drove up to the exit ramp and started traveling east in the westbound lane.
While traveling down the Interstate, Simmons struck several vehicles and continued traveling down the roadway in the wrong direction. An 18-wheeler noticed Simmons and swerved their truck to avoid hitting the Ford. In turn, the semi-truck collided with a passenger vehicle.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was injured in the collision and transported to a hospital across state lines for treatment.
Simmons was found to be under the influence at the time of the collision.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation
