Houston, TX – 1 Killed in Fatal Crash on Lee Rd and Edward Dr
Houston, TX (July 21, 2019) On the evening of July 20th, a fatal crash happened at the intersection of Lee Road and Edward drive. A pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Edward Drive when it failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign. As a result, it crashed into a vehicle traveling on Lee Road.
When the police arrived, they found that the two occupants inside of the pickup truck had fled the scene. They were able to arrest one of them, and then found the other one at his place of residency. Sadly, the driver inside of the vehicle that was traveling on Lee Road sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
Authorities are working to determine why the driver inside of the pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign.
Our thoughts are with the deceased driver’s family at this time.
Car Accidents in Houston
In 2012, approximately 193 people lost their lives in traffic accidents that occurred in Houston. One of the main causes of accidents at intersections is often a failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming vehicles. When these types of accidents happen late at night, drivers who disregard traffic signs are typically under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which is dangerous for them and everybody else on the road.
At Benton Law Firm, our job is to assist grieving families with filing wrongful death lawsuits against drivers who fail to abide by traffic laws. It’s unfair for irresponsible drivers to cause collisions that take the lives of innocent parties and leave families left to cover all of the damages. If you lost a loved one in a car accident, contact our office today for a free consultation at 214-219-4878. We are eager to assist you with your case.
