Temple, TX – 1 Killed and 1 Injured in Motorcycle Accident on I-35
Temple, TX (July 27, 2019) On the evening of July 27th, a motorcycle accident occurred on Interstate 35, near Exit 305. Two motorcycles and a vehicle were all involved in the collision. A mother was driving on the highway with three of her children when she noticed two motorcyclists weaving through traffic. Suddenly, she was rear-ended by them. The accident happened at around 9:20 p.m.
When the paramedics and other crews arrived at the scene, they found one of the motorcyclists suffering from injuries. The paramedics tended to the injured motorcyclist and then rushed the victim to the closest available hospital. Unfortunately, the other motorcyclist died at the scene. Although the mother and her three children were shaken up from the crash, they were all unharmed.
Authorities are currently investigating to determine what led up to the fatal collision.
Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased motorcyclist and the injured motorcyclist.
Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
In 2018, over 400 motorcyclists sustained fatal injuries as a result of traffic collisions throughout Texas. The leading cause of these accidents is often drivers not paying attention and accidentally switching lanes or turning in front of motorcyclists. Other times these happen when drivers slam on their brakes and motorcyclists don’t have enough time to brake before rear-ending them.
