Mission, TX – Jesus Zamudio Killed In Collision On Highway 2

Mission, TX (August 2, 2019) – On Saturday, July 27, emergency crews received a request for assistance in the 900 block of Highway 2 in Phar.

According to reports, 22-year-old Jesus Zamudio was working on his Kia Sportage along the side of the road when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Zamudio sustained fatal injuries in this incident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On July 29, the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Mauro Esparza III, turned himself into Mission Police Department for this incident. His passenger, Ruby Esparza, was also charged for failure to report.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
