Harris County, TX – 2 Deputies Injured in DUI Accident on N Eldridge Pkwy
Harris County, TX (August 4, 2019) On the 2nd of August, a DUI accident happened at the intersection of North Eldridge Parkway and Clay Road. Two deputies were in the middle of escorting giant wooden crates to Seabrook from the Jersey Village area. Some of the deputies were blocking off the intersection when a drunk driver struck them. The accident happened at around 11:30 p.m.
When the paramedics and other emergency crews arrived to assist, they found two deputies suffering from injuries at the scene. One of the deputies was treated by the paramedics at the scene, while the other was transported to the nearest hospital for further care.
Authorities are still investigating, but fortunately, they were able to arrest the drunk driver.
Our thoughts are with both of the deputies as they begin the recovery process.
Car Accidents in Texas
Sadly, one of the risks of being a police officer or deputy is that there is a chance of being harmed in the field. Often times police officers are injured when they’re responding to emergency calls. The other common cause of police injuries is drunk drivers being reckless on the road and accidentally crashing into them.
