Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
In 2017, almost 300 pedestrian fatalities occurred throughout Texas. The leading cause of pedestrian accidents that occur between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m. is often drunk driving or drowsy driving. When drivers are not in their right state of mind due to inebriation or fatigue, they’re likely to make errors while on the road, such as speed, drive through stop signs and red lights, drive in the wrong direction, and weave through lanes. When drivers do this, they’re more likely to accidentally crash into pedestrians.
