Gregg County, TX – Christopher Allen Jaynes Killed In State Spur 502 Crash

Gregg County, TX (August 6, 2019) – At around 6:42 a.m. on August 6, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on State Spur 502 just south of Farm to Market Road 1844.

According to reports from DPS, 42-year-old Jennifer Rana Phillips was traveling south of State Spur 502 in a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. As she traveled down the roadway, she was rear-ended by a 2009 Ford Fusion, which was driven by 36-year-old Christopher Allen Jaynes.

The impact of the collision caused the Ford to roll up onto its left side before coming to rest in the center lane. While on its side, the Ford was struck by a 2020 Kia Sorento, which was driven by 59-year-old Donna Kinsella.

Jaynes sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Kinsella was injured and transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
