Austin, TX – Great Southwest Parkway Crash Results in Fatal Injuries

Austin, TX (August 8, 2019) – On August 6, Grand Prairie police report a motor vehicle accident on Great Southwest Parkway.

According to reports, 17-year-old Frank Alvarez was traveling north on Great Southwest Parkway, at a high rate of speed, when he ran a red light at the intersection for Sherman Street.

As Alvarez passed through the intersection, his vehicle collided with a pickup truck.

Three occupants in the truck were injured and transported to an area hospital

The passenger inside Alvarez’s truck, who was pregnant at the time of the incident, went into labor due to the incident. Authorities report that the baby was stillborn.

Alvarez was subsequently arrested and faces multiple charges, including intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, for this incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
