Austin, TX – Douglas Joseph Vogelsass Killed In US Highway 290 Crash

Austin, TX (August 9, 2019) – On August 4, around 12:50 a.m., the Austin Police Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 290.

According to reports, 44-year-old Douglas Joseph Vogelsass was walking north along William Cannon Drive while crossing over US Highway 290.

While Vogelsass was crossing the roadway, he was struck by a 2013 Ford F-150.

Vogelsass sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
