Dallas, TX (August 9, 2019) – On August 9, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Dallas Police Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on West Northwest Highway.

Reports from police indicate that a construction worker was operating machinery in two lanes of the highway, which were closed for construction when they were struck by a motor vehicle near Timberline Drive.

The construction worker was provided medical attention at the scene of the incident.

The driver fled the scene of the incident before being chased down and stopped by another worker.

The driver was reportedly under the influence at the time of the crash.

The driver was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
