Corpus Christi, TX – Child Injured in Car Accident on S Padre Island Dr
Corpus Christi, TX (August 10, 2019) On the evening of August 10th, a car accident happened on South Padre Island Drive. Three vehicles collided on the street at around 6:00 p.m. The impact of the collision caused a child to eject out of one of the vehicles. Investigators revealed that the child possibly flipped out of an open window.
When the paramedics and other crews arrived, they found the child seriously injured in the roadway. They rushed her to the nearest hospital for urgent treatment. Fortunately, the injuries didn’t appear fatal, but she did suffer serious head injuries.
Investigators are still investigating, but so far, the police are charging one of the drivers for not restraining a child, and one of the other drivers for failing to yield the right-of-way.
Our thoughts are with the injured child and her family at this time. We wish her a fast recovery.
Car Accidents in Texas
Failing to yield the right-of-way causes thousands of accidents every year in Texas. Drivers who do this are often distracted by different things, such as loud music, loud noise outside of the car, other passengers, food, cell phone, fatigue, and more. Sometimes drivers fail to yield the right-of-way when they’re driving aggressively.
At Benton Law Firm, we defend those who have been wrongfully harmed by drivers failing to yield the right-of-way. We have helped thousands of injured victims file and win their cases.
