Liberty County, TX – Jared Snell Dies in Head-On Collision on Hwy 105
Liberty County, TX (August 10, 2019) On the evening of August 9th, a fatal head-on collision happened on Highway 105. A 35-year-old who has been identified as Lieutenant Jared Snell, was traveling on the highway when he crashed with a refrigerated 18-wheeler truck that contained highly concentrated canisters of apple juice. As a result, the 18-wheeler caught on fire shortly after the collision. The accident happened at around 8:00 p.m.
When the paramedics and other emergency crews arrived, they found Snell dead at the scene. He worked for the Atascocita Fire Department and was also a member of the Baytown Fire Department before he moved to Atascocita.
The driver of the 18-wheeler jumped out of the truck right before it caught on fire. Although he sustained injuries, he is expected to be okay.
Authorities are gathering more information regarding the accident.
