Emory, TX – Gary Michael Bishop Killed In Pedestrian Crash On SH-19

Emory, TX (August 12, 2019) – At approximately 6:15 a.m. on August 12, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a notification surrounding a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 19.

Investigative reports surrounding the incident show that 43-year-old Laura J. Fair was traveling south on State Highway 19 in a 2017 Dodge Charger when she struck 62-year-old Gary Michael Bishop in the roadway as he crossed from east to west.

Bishop, who was performing his duties as a sanitation worker in the area, incurred fatal injuries in the incident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
