Collingsworth County, TX – Cameron Swearingen Killed In State HWY 203 Crash

Collingsworth County, TX (August 14, 2019) – On August 14, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 203.

According to reports, 46-year-old Cameron Swearingen was traveling west along State Highway 203 on a motorcycle when 77-year-old Jackie Barnett failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn onto a private drive in a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado.

Swearingen tried to avoid colliding with the Silverado and ended up laying down his motorcycle. The motorcycle slid along the roadway and was then struck by the pickup.

Swearingen sustained critical injuries and was transported to Collingsworth General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

At this time, the Texas DPS is investigating this incident.
