Whitney, TX – Man Dies In Drowning Accident At Lake Whitney

Whitney, TX (August 15, 2019) – On August 12, around 11 a.m., emergency crews responded to the scene of a drowning incident at Lake Whitney.

Reports from the Texas Game Warden indicate that Richard Melton jumped into the water to cool off on Sunday when his boat drifted away. Melton suffered distress and went underwater.

Texas Parks and Wildlife’s dive team searched for hours to find the missing man.

Unfortunately, when he was discovered he was deceased.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
