Crystal Beach, TX – Teen Injured In Fun Town Water Park Accident

Crystal Beach, TX (August 16, 2019) – On August 10, emergency crews responded to a horrific accident at the Fun Town Water Park located off State Highway 87.

Reports from authorities state that 14-year-old Caden Strimple was at the water park when he slipped inside a pool intake pump.

The boy became trapped inside the vent and was unable to get out. His friend rushed over and turned off the pump but a strong suction kept the child down.

Eventually, Strimple was able to escape and was miraculously about to stand and talk after the incident.

It was only when Strimple was transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston that his family realized the extent of his injuries.

Strimple was placed into a medically induced coma and admitted into the PICU in critical condition. The young teen suffered extensive internal injuries in the incident and remains hospitalized at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with Caden Strimple and his family at this time.
