West, TX – 1 Killed In Major Collision On I-35
West, TX (August 17, 2019) On the evening of August 16th, a major collision happened on Interstate 35, near mile marker 354. A Dodge pickup truck was towing a trailer on the highway when it merged to the middle lane. A Chevrolet collided with the trailer and ended up stuck underneath the trailer. Another car rear-ended the Chevrolet as a result of the first collision. Shortly after all of the collisions, all the vehicles caught on fire. The collision occurred right before 11:00 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived to assist at the scene, they found the driver of the Chevrolet deceased inside of the vehicle. The paramedics immediately assisted all other individuals involved in the crash.
The accident is still under investigation as officials work to determine causation and liability.
Our thoughts are with the deceased victim’s family at this time.
Car Accidents in Texas
Unfortunately, thousands of people lose their lives in collisions every year in Texas. There are many causes for car accidents, but most of the time drivers inattention is the leading factor. Sometimes accidents that happen late at night are caused by drunk drivers since it’s harder for them to accurately operate a vehicle while under the influence. Drivers who cause collisions should be held accountable for their actions, especially if they put others in danger because of negligence.
