Huntsville, TX – 4 Injured In Major Traffic Accident On FM 2821
Huntsville, TX (August 18, 2019) On the morning of August 18th, a major traffic accident involving a fire truck happened at FM 2821 and FM 247. A fire truck was responding to an emergency and its sirens and lights were on when a 2019 Toyota Highlander rear-ended the back of it. Upon impact, the fire truck rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop. The collision was reported at around 9:30 a.m.
When other emergency crews arrived to help out, they found two firefighters had safely escaped the truck, but one firefighter was still trapped inside. Emergency crews were able to safely extricate him and rush him to Conroe Regional. The other two injured firefighters and the driver of the Toyota were taken to Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
The police are still investigating the accident to determine what caused the Toyota to rear-end the firetruck.
We wish the three firefighters and the driver of the Toyota a complete recovery.
Traffic Accidents in Texas
Sadly, thousands of firefighters are injured out in the field when they’re responding to emergency calls. When other drivers fail to pay attention to their surroundings, they run the risk of accidentally crashing into fire trucks or other emergency vehicles. Often times smaller vehicles sustain more damage than fire trucks due to the size difference, but there are cases where fire trucks are severely damaged, and the men inside sustain serious injuries.
