San Antonio, TX – Man Killed In Fatal Pedestrian Accident On S Zarzamora St
San Antonio, TX (August 24, 2019) On the evening of August 23rd, a fatal pedestrian accident happened on South Zarzamora Street in the southbound lanes.
A woman driving a pickup truck hit a pedestrian as he was leaving the convenience store. The man was walking on the side of the road when the accident occurred as sidewalks are not available on S Zarzamora Street. The accident occurred around 10:45 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the man lying in the roadway suffering from injuries. Sadly, he did not survive his injuries.
Investigators are still investigating to determine why the woman struck the man. She states she did not see him because it was too dark and there were no street lights.
Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased pedestrian’s family.
Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Thousands of pedestrians are killed every year in pedestrian accidents, mainly because of negligent drivers. Sometimes accidents are caused by other factors, such as poorly lit roads or environmental hazards. Most of the time pedestrian accidents could be avoided. If drivers are speeding, under the influence, or distracted, they’re more likely to accidentally strike and harm a pedestrian.
At The Benton Law Firm, we do our best to help grieving families file wrongful death lawsuits after losing loved ones in pedestrian accidents.
