Howard County, TX (August 29, 2019) – Authorities continue to investigate a fatal plane crash late last week.

On Friday, August 23, emergency crews responded to the scene of a plane crash near Big Spring. Reports from the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed that 50-year-old Beat Burkart was flying an experimental Meyers Midget 0100 racing airplane when his vehicle decided to take a roll at 4000-feet.

The plane flipped upside down and started to descend in a spiral.

The plane crashed into the ground, resulting in instant fatal injuries for Burkart.

Authorities report that Burkart, who is originally from Switzerland, was set to perform next month.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Beat Burkart.  Our thoughts are with them at this time.
