Jacksboro, TX – Sarannahh Rains-Hurston Killed in Highway 281 Crash

Jacksboro, TX (August 30, 2019) – At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, emergency crews responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Texas Highway 281 and State Highway 199.

According to reports, 43-year-old Sarannahh E. Rains-Hurston was traveling north along Highway 281 when her vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Lura Kaylyn Kidd, who was traveling south on Highway 281.

Sarannahh E. Rains-Hurston’s vehicle was t-boned on the driver’s side, resulting in fatal injuries. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.

Kidd was evaluated by EMS at the scene and released.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
