Jackson County, TX – 10 Injured in 3-Vehicle Collision on SH 111
Jackson County, TX (August 31, 2019) On the afternoon of August 31st, a three-vehicle collision happened on State Highway 111 and 172. A woman operating a Ford van that contained seven children crashed with a Dodge pickup truck. The impact of the crash caused the van to turn and hit a red Toyota pickup truck that was stopped at a stop sign. The accident happened at around 4:00 p.m.
When emergency responders arrived, they found three children inside of the van suffering from serious injuries and rushed them to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston via an emergency helicopter. The remaining four children were taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro for treatment. The man and woman inside of the Dodge were rushed to Jackson County Hospital District for treatment. The driver of the Toyota refused to be taken to the hospital.
Crews closed off the intersection as they worked to remove the vehicles and investigate the scene. The roads were reopened at around 6:00 p.m. The accident is still under investigation.
Our thoughts are with the 10 injured victims as they begin recovering.
Car Accidents in Texas
Unfortunately, drivers run red lights or fail to stop at stop signs every day throughout the United States. Drivers do this when they are distracted, under the influence, or tired. Traffic laws were designed for the safety of all occupants of the road. When drivers fail to follow the law, they put themselves and others in their surroundings at risk of being seriously injured.
At The Benton Law Firm, our goal is to continue assisting injured victims with filing personal injury lawsuits against at fault drivers.
