Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
In 2015, statistics show that 6,165 individuals over the age of 65 sustained fatalities after being involved in motor vehicle accidents. Another 240,000 sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Studies also show that almost 800,000 hit-and-run accidents occur every year throughout the country and over half involve pedestrians. Sadly, when drivers flee the scene after striking someone, it’s often because of fear, inebriation, or criminal history.
