Austin, TX – Abel Garza Injured In Collision On I 35
Austin, TX (September 2, 2019) – On September 1, just after midnight, emergency crews responded to the scene of an officer-involved accident in the 4400 block of Interstate 35.
According to reports, a police officer was blocking lanes of traffic on a motorcycle, with lights activated, when they were struck by a dark-colored vehicle.
The officer, who was identified as Abel Garza, was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Jose Hernandez Garcia, was later arrested and charged for his involvement in this incident.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
