On Saturday, August 31, emergency crews responded to the scene of a bicycle accident on Diamondback Lane.

According to reports, a 14-year-old boy was crossing the roadway near the intersection of Diamondback Lane and Esperanza Drive just after 6:30 p.m., when he was struck by a black pickup truck.

The driver of the truck fled the scene of the incident without stopping.

The child was transported to an area hospital and treated for injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
