Round Mountain, TX – Collision on US 281 Results in Fatal Injuries
Round Mountain, TX (September 4, 2019) – A man and a toddler lost their lives in a motor vehicle collision on the first of the month.
According to reports, just after 5:20 p.m. on September 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety was called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US 281.
Reports indicate that a 2017 Honda CRV, which was driven by 76-year-old Stephen Kent Neil, collided with a northbound 2012 Ford Explorer, which was driven by 41-year-old Kirk Evan Strickley. At the time of the collision, the Ford Explorer was occupied by the driver as well as 36-year-old Mary Nicole Powers and 17-month-old Emily Rose Strickley.
Both Neil and Emily Rose Strickley incurred fatal injuries in the collision and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Kirk Evan Strickley and Powers were both injured and transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
