Edwards County, TX – Hwy 377 Crash Sends Deputy to Hospital

Edwards County, TX (September 5, 2019) – On September 3, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 377.

According to reports from the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Adrian Ruiz was out of his vehicle on the highway conducting a traffic stop, near Rural Route 674, when he was struck by a red pickup truck.

The Officer was life-flighted to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment. At this time, the officer is said to be in critical condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
