Sonora, TX – 2 Killed in I-10 Semi-Truck Collision

Sonora, TX (September 11, 2019) – Just before 1:30 a.m. on September 10, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on I-10 just six miles west of Sonora.

According to reports, 49-year-old Servilio L. Placeres Gonzalez was traveling west along I-10 in a 2009 Volvo truck tractor towing a semi-trailer when he collided with a 1997 Peterbilt driven by 72-year-old Luis A. Sanchez.

After the collision, both semi-trucks caught on fire.

Both Placeres Gonzalez and Sanchez incurred fatal injuries in the collision. Crews arrived at the scene and pronounced both drivers deceased.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
