Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents
Over 700,000 hit-and-run accidents occur nationwide annually, and over half of them involve pedestrians. When drivers strike pedestrians late at night and don’t stop to check on them, it’s usually because the drivers are driving under the influence. Other times drivers fear being arrested due to their recent criminal history, so they speed off hoping no witnesses see them.
When investigators finally catch the responsible drivers, the consequences are even worse than they would have been if the driver would have stopped and remained at the scene.
