El Paso, TX – Border Patrol Agent Hospitalized After Crash on I-10

El Paso, TX (September 18, 2019) – On September 17, at approximately 10 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 10 near the Sierra Blanca Checkpoint.

According to reports, Border Patrol Agents were conducting a check at the station along I-10. A vehicle approached the checkpoint and the drivers exited the vehicle in an attempt to evade the inspection.

The Border Patrol Agents attempted to follow the individuals on foot. As the Agents ran along the roadway, one of them was struck by a vehicle not involved in the chase.

The Agent was injured in the incident and transported to Del Sol Hospital for medical treatment.

At this time, an investigation is underway.
