Lubbock, TX – Frank Sanchez ID’d as Victim of University Ave Pedestrian Crash

Lubbock, TX (September 18, 2019) – Just before 9 p.m. on September 16, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the 8800 block of University Avenue.

According to reports, 59-year-old Frank Sanchez was attempting to cross the roadway in a wheelchair when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the right lane of the right side of the roadway.

Sanchez was transported to UMC immediately after the incident where he was pronounced deceased.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit.
