Navarro County, TX (September 26, 2019) – At approximately 10 p.m. on September 23, emergency crews responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident at a rest area on Interstate 45.

According to reports,  a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling north through the rest area along I-45 when it collided with a grey 2012 Dodge pickup truck, which was parked across several parking spaces in the lot.

Prior to impact, the Equinox collided with 49-year-old Mark Lancaster, who was standing outside of the Dodge.

Lancaster was seriously injured in the collision and transported via medical helicopter to Parkland Hospital.

The driver of the Equinox fled the scene without stopping to render aid. At this time, the collision remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with Mark Lancaster and his family at this time.
