UPDATE: El Paso, TX – Sydney Caldwell Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Loop 375

El Paso, TX (September 28, 2019) A fatal pedestrian accident happened at Loop 375, close to North Loop. At about 4:00 p.m. on September 27th, a semi-truck hit a homeless, disabled man in a wheelchair at the intersection.

When the police responded to the scene, they found the man deceased on the road. He has been identified as Sydney Caldwell. He was a disabled veteran who lived out of his van for twenty years near a mechanic shop in the area.

Crews shut down both directions of the North Loop as they investigated and cleared up the scene.

Our thoughts are with the family of Sydney Caldwell at this time. We send our condolences to his family.
