Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

San Antonio, TX - Woman Injured In Hit-And-Pedestrian On Randolph BlvdIn 2018, 621 pedestrians reportedly lost their lives after being hit by vehicles in Texas. When drivers flee the scene after striking a pedestrian at night, it’s usually due to fear of the repercussions. However, if hit-and-run drivers are caught, the consequences are multiplied for leaving the scene of the crime, and not rendering aid to the injured pedestrian.

Another contributing factor to hit-and-run pedestrian accidents is alcohol. When drivers are under the influence, they are more likely to speed, drive unaware of their surroundings, and break laws.
