El Paso, TX (October 16, 2019) – At approximately 8:33 p.m. on October 15, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Dyer Street (US-54 BUS).

According to reports, a child was crossing the street on a scooter in the 9800 block of Dyer Street when they were struck by a pickup truck.

The child sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to University Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene of the incident but later returned.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
