El Paso, TX – Child Succumbs to Injuries from Dyer St (US-54 BUS) Crash
El Paso, TX (October 17, 2019) – A child struck by a motor vehicle on Dyer Street has passed away, according to authorities.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on October 15, 13-year-old Brian Velasquez was crossing Dyer Street, on a scooter, with his 14-year-old sister, when he was struck by a pickup truck.
The driver of the truck fled the scene but later returned to speak to the police.
Velasquez was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that the young boy later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
