Denton, TX – Officer Shot & Injured on West University Dr

Denton, TX (October 29, 2019) – An on-the-job assault left one officer critically injured.

Just after midnight on October 29, emergency crews received the request for assistance regarding an incident in the 1800 block of West University Drive.

According to reports, a Denton Police Officer stopped a motor vehicle on West University Drive when the occupant of the car shot the officer before fleeing the scene.

The officer sustained injuries and was rushed to Medical City hospital for emergency surgery.

Two individuals were apprehended after the incident.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
