Navasota, TX – 2 Injured in Hwy 6 Collision

Navasota, TX (November 4, 2019) – Officer and firefighter injured after responding to an accident on Texas Highway 6.

Around 12:30 a.m. on November 3, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Texas Highway 6. As per reports, a single-vehicle collision claimed the life of a female victim along the roadway.

As authorities were investigating the scene of the incident, 20-year-old Avery Jimenez ran into the back of the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office patrol car. One deputy and one firefighter at the scene were injured in the collision.

Both victims were transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital for treatment.

Jimenez was arrested and charged with intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury and possession of marijuana.

At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
