Houston, TX – Ashlyn Rhodes Killed in Brierwest Blvd Collision
Houston, TX (November 5, 2019) – A collision on Brierwest Boulevard left one person critically injured and claimed the life of a second victim on Saturday.
According to reports, 21-year-old Ashlyn Rhodes and her 18-year-old brother, Kannin Williams, were traveling along Westbrier Boulevard in a Volkswagen Jetta when a Hyundai, driven by 29-year-old Adokeo D. Akue, ran through a red light at the intersection and struck the side of the car.
Rhodes was killed instantly in the collision. Williams incurred critical and life-threatening injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
Akue was subsequently arrested and charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault – serious bodily injury.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
