Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

Vidor, TX – Man Injured in Auto-Pedestrian Accident On I-10In 2018, approximately 7,908 pedestrian accidents happened throughout Texas. After comparing previous records, studies confirmed that 2018 was the worst year for pedestrians in the state’s history. Pedestrian accidents are often caused by distracted driving, drunk driving, reckless driving, and/or fatigued driving.

Drivers are expected to be extra cautious on the road, even if pedestrians are unlikely to walk in certain areas. Emergencies arise causing pedestrians to be found walking on the highway, especially if their vehicles break down. It’s important for drivers to always be on the lookout because when they’re not, they put themselves at risk of accidentally striking a pedestrian and leaving them seriously harmed.
